© Splash News Cheeta the chimpanzee , the animal star of 12 Tarzan films, celebrated his 75th birthday yesterday. The famous animal star , who appeared in the 30s and 40s jungle blockbusters, is the world's oldest chimpanzee . The usual lifespan is about 50. He marked the occasion at the primate sanctuary Creative Habitats and Enrichment for Endangered and Threatened Apes ( CHEETA ) in Palm Springs, California, by tucking into sugar-free cake and diet soft drinks.
